Sotheby’s Art Auction NYC

For those of you who don’t know, Sotheby’s and Christie’s Auction Houses in New York City and have free viewings in the spring so they can hold their famous art auctions and sell modern and contemporary art to the highest bidder. I enjoyed looking at floor after floor of this fabulous art on the upper east side of Manhattan and I must say one of my favorites was the Salvador Dali horse sculpture with one of his famous melting clocks draped over the horse where the saddle would be. One of the highest priced works was by contemporary artist Cy Twombley who did a huge abstract which looked like scribbles of blue crayon. I think it was worth $30 million but don’t quote me on that!
