Christie’s Art Auction NYC

Yesterday I wrote about Sotheby’s Auction and today I will focus on Christie’s in Rockefeller Center in New York City. They are both very popular venues for both the art lover and art collector. Although I don’t have a picture, the big seller for Christie’s was a small sculpture of Hitler kneeling and praying in a small, dark room which had some very eerie overtones. It was very moving in a creepy kind of way. I think it went for approximately $45 million. Another feature in the front of the gallery was a large stainless steel egg with a bow on it by famous contemporary artist Jeff Koons. The selection of art was excellent and my friend and I even saw Anderson Cooper perusing the artwork.
