Soho Art Galleries

After seeing large venues of art all week, including Frieze, MoMA, and the new Whitney, it was nice to meander about the cobblestone streets of Soho. This is a section in downtown Manhattan named after the area: SOuth of HOuston Street. It was very enjoyable because you could get a good sampling of art, in palatable amounts, and back out into the street into the beautiful spring weather. My friend and I even went into a artsy lighting store that even looked like a gallery. My favorite piece was a stainless steel cat constructed in an abstract way (shown above). We went into many different galleries and I’ve included a sampling from each and I’ve also included a pic of me and the Jeff Koons balloon rabbit on display in an office building in the East Village, which is near Soho.
