Big Bend Cares of Tallahassee is a organization that helps people and their families with HIV/AIDS and has a fundraiser every year at the civic center called Artopia. The event calls for artists to donate pieces for the cause to be auctioned off in a silent and a live auction. I have been participating for several years now. This year I painted a donkey especially for the event and also donated a mini reindeer painting ornament (the donkey painting was featured in a previous blog). Above is a feature that Big Bend provides for the public: “Meet an Artopian” which they do for many of the artists and I’m proud to say this is the first year I have been one of the featured artists. The interviews appear on the Big Bend Cares Facebook page and their website http://www.bigbendcares.org . Artopia is Saturday, June 25th from 7:00 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, 505 W. Pensacola St., Tallahassee, FL. Tickets available on their website…it’s for a great cause!
