Here I am displaying my sample mini cat portrait with Leslie Puckett, Art Program Coordinator at Tallahassee Senior Center. Leslie is shown here with the cat painting she created while sitting in on the class in addition to the other students. The students worked on 6″x6″ canvases at first then graduated to the much smaller “mini” canvases (approximately 3″x3″). I posted a previous blog showing the students and their artwork and I am happy to announce the class was a success and it will be running again for the Christmas season where the folks will use their mini custom pet portraits for Christmas tree ornaments. Holiday themed paintings will also be possible subject matter with my own example of mini reindeer. If you are interested in joining the workshop next time, the class is running Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on October 25, November 1, 8 and 15. Pre-registration is required and you can check out the info on their website at Tallahassee Senior Center.
