On Saturday, December 17 I taught a very successful Mini Paint Your Pet workshop at the LeMoyne Art Education Annex. There were nine students and about half painted dogs and the rest painted their pet cats. The class was open to any skill level and was two hours long. The other classes I’ve taught had fewer people participating, so this one was a challenge! I’ve included some pictures below of the whole class being instructed.
The time went by quickly and the women all said they had fun. They not only had to make a pleasing rendition of their favorite pet, they also learned the fundamentals of painting like color schemes and highlights, mid-tones and shadows. I will be teaching another workshop at LeMoyne in the near future. The next one I have scheduled is at the Tallahassee Senior Center on North Monroe Street every Tuesday in April. Pre-registration is required. The folks at LeMoyne’s workshop all seemed to be happy with their mini pet portraits and I had fun teaching them! I’ve attached a few photos of the proud participants with their finished products.
