International Minis

Happy Spring to all you folks! It’s the Vernal Equinox at 11:06 pm today, March 19th 2024 and I’m happy to say things are going well for me. Right now I’m working on a mixed media series I hope to display at a gallery next year, so I am working and working to get as many pieces as possible ready. I just finished one called “Life” and, as with the others in this series, it is very introspective. Anyway…

This blog is dedicated to the two CUSTOM MINI PORTRAITS that were for international clients. This makes me very proud and is quite a landmark in my career. The first one was actually commissioned a couple of years ago but I don’t believe I documented it properly, so I am including it here. It was for a Facebook friend who lives in Great Britain (who I actually met when I was in my 20s and was visiting the country). And the second one was done very recently, was an order from my Etsy site, and was going to Japan. Both were commissioned by people who wanted to give their friend a portrait of their pet as a gift.

If you refer to the photos on the top, the dog who is named Farley was for the client in England and the cat named Marron went to Japan. The mini portraits are 2-1/2″ square and come attached to a wooden easel. I am pleased to say, both customers were very pleased with the renditions of the pets, both were surprise gifts, and both gave me positive reviews.

So, folks, as Spring unfolds with its beautiful weather and flowers, woM So stay safe and stay tuned, more on my mixed media coming up…
